WF-300XLH/HOFR10/ATX110 LED Floodlite
The Wolf Safety WF-300XLH is a robust, high-performance portable LED floodlight specifically engineered for hazardous area illumination. Designed and manufactured by Wolf Safety Lamp Company, this unit delivers bright, even, medium-angle flood lighting for workspaces where explosive atmospheres might be present due to gas, vapour, mist or dust. Its rugged, compact design combines reliable performance and user-friendly operation, making it a go-to choice for industries that demand certified lighting solutions in challenging environments.
At the heart of the WF-300XLH’s performance is its 36 high-power LEDs arranged across two independent LED panels, providing a medium-flood beam with excellent area coverage and minimal shadowing. Drawing up to ~62 W of power on the high-voltage version, the floodlite produces a high luminous output — often cited in the multi-thousand-lumen range — while maintaining efficient energy use. The LEDs are rated for 100,000+ operating hours, thanks to integrated thermal management with built-in heat dissipation fins that keep temperatures controlled and prolong component life.
Safety and compliance are central to the WF-300XLH design. It is certified to ATEX and IECEx standards for Gas Zones 1 & 2 and Dust Zones 21 & 22 with T4 temperature classification, allowing its safe use in potentially explosive atmospheres involving Group IIC gases and Group IIIC dusts. The rugged enclosure constructed from marine-grade aluminium alloy and toughened glass lens is IP66/67 rated, ensuring full protection against dust ingress and powerful water jets — essential for outdoor work and wet industrial environments.
One of the WF-300XLH’s standout technical innovations is Wolf Safety’s SOVI™ (Safe Optimal Voltage Indicator) system. This patented safety feature continuously monitors supply voltage and alerts operators — via pulsing output — if the lamp is running outside its certified optimal voltage range. The system enhances on-site safety by helping prevent operation under unsafe electrical conditions and can support operation down to 0 V without compromising certification. In addition, certain versions of the floodlite can be LinkEx™-linked, allowing multiple units to be daisy-chained from a single power source to illuminate larger work areas efficiently.
In terms of real-world applications, the WF-300XLH excels in industrial maintenance, inspection and emergency lighting across sectors where hazardous atmospheres are commonplace. Typical environments include offshore oil and gas platforms, petrochemical plants, refineries, tank cleaning and confined space entry projects, mining operations, and large-scale infrastructure sites where safe temporary lighting is essential. Its rugged build, high luminous output, and safety certifications make it a trusted portable lighting solution for both routine tasks and critical turnaround or shutdown work in explosive atmospheres.
